Start your own daycare service. Take care of your kid and a lot of others and get paid for them.

Maybe cook deserts and sell.
Create jewelry, craft and/or artwork.
Start a blog or write articles for blogs for cash.
If you have some money, learn about low risk investing and invest.
Ebay
Write a children’s book

Depends on how immediate your financial needs are.

If you’re interested in making some extra money online, you should check out Associated Content. You write articles and they pay you. It’s completely free and you’re free to write about anything you want: parenting, health and beauty, product reviews, recipes, travel, news etc.

I’ve written 6 articles and so far I’ve made 50 dollars. It all depends on how much time you have to dedicate. But it’s totally legit– the money is sitting in my paypal account.

Not sure if you meant no direct sales or just MLM. I started my Mary Kay business 3 years ago today just for the discount !! It has changed my life. The funny thing is this is the last thing I ever thought I would be doing. As a consultant you buy for wholesale and sell for retail so you make 50% of the sale no quota no phone calls telling you to sell or attend meeting you do what you want. I am able to be home with my girls and work only a few hours a week I have fun and make money. I do most of my appointments from my home and I love it. It gives me the flexiblity i need and the income and social outlet I want.
